Organizing your family photos

It’s time to get those photos out of the shoebox and preserve them for years to come.

Step 1: Gather all of your photos and put in one place, plan to work on organizing
them in 15 minute or 30 minute increments a day.

Step 2: Look thru the photos and discard the ones that are not worth keeping.

Step 3: Set aside the duplicate photos that you intended to give to someone else

Step 4: Organize the photos the way it makes sense to you, there is no written rule
as to how to do it…here are a few ideas: Chronologically (year by year),
or events like holidays, or parties, or even an album for each child in
your family.

Step 5: Label all photos, make sure to include who, when & where (it’s easy to
forget these details as life goes on).

Step 6: Put the photos in an acid-free album or acid-free envelopes,if you plan on
scrapbooking them.

Banners for Foster Kids Birthday Partys Blog Hop

Hi! Welcome to Foster Kids Birthday Party's Blog Hop! Many of you may be familiar with CardMonkey's awesome banner hops for kids... I was so inspired by them that I wanted to find another opportunity to do good with my crafting. I happened upon a volunteer at Birthday Magic at a work event & followed up with them. They loved the idea of handmade birthday banners, so I put out the call and I was lucky to have 15 awesome crafters join me! So today you will get to see everyone's creations!

If you've never heard of Birthday Magic, you can see their site here - http://www.volunteersac.org/birthdaymagic/ BirthdayMAGIC is a program of the Volunteer Center of Sacramento, which provides personalized monthly birthday parties to children currently living in Sacramento area homeless shelters, transitional living facilities, community programs or residential treatment centers. The goal of BirthdayMAGIC is to brighten the lives of children by providing fun, meaningful and memorable birthday parties during what can be an awkward and challenging experience in their lives. Each month, children living in these shelters will celebrate birthdays – through financial support, volunteer help and the BirthdayMAGIC program, these wonderful children will receive a birthday party thrown in their honor. For more information on sponsoring a party please contact us at info@volunteersac.org or call (916) 567-3100. I'm looking forward to dropping off all the amazing banners For them to use in the parties! So now, sit back & enjoy all the great banners!!! You should have started the hop at: Jennifer Restivo http://www.craftycardgallery.blogspot.com/ And if you've been following along, you should have come from: http://jessicascraftshaque.blogspot.com/

I am so excited to be a part of this blog hop as both of my children are adopted.  I was so happy to hear that this agency does such a nice job in providing birthday parties for children who wouldn't otherwise have one that I just knew that I had to participate. I
made my banner from both of the Cricut cartridges that Close To My Heart sells, Art Philosophy (AP) and Artiste.  I cut out the pennants at 6 inches and the letters at 2 1/2 inches from AP and the spaceship, robot, planet, UFO and rocket ship were cut out from 2 to 3inches from the Artiste cartridge.  Please click on the banner to see it up closer.

Thanks for stopping by and please visit:  http://www.twcards.blogspot.com/ to see the last banner in the hop.
